Title: The Kommunity summer sessions Grande Finale!

Date: 27/07/2008

The Kommunity summer sessions have now come to an end for 2008!

Komm_08_DW_news.jpg
Olympian Dan Wakeham fs indy in the pipe!

After 3 weeks in L2Alpes my battered body is in need of a little rest and recovery and there's plenty to catch up wth around the office before I go back up into the mountains here in Chamonix to start Mountain Guiding again on Wednesday, no rest for the wicked! I must have been bad!

The 3 weeks of Kommunity were great!

We stayed in a hotel this year as opposed to the apartment set up of previous years and this seemed to really benefit the whole kommunity spirit bringing everyone closer together and making it a real social affair.

The park and pipes up on the Glacier were in very good condition, the best I've seen them and everyone rode to their full potential and beyond.

A big thanks goes out to everyone who helped make it happen, Mel behind the scenes and all the Pro riders/coaches on the front line!

A big line up of Britain's best were in attendance and so a big thanks goes out to Hamish McKnight, Will Hughes, Nelson Pratt, Jenny jones, Gary Greenshields, Edd Gunn, Chris Chatt, Jack 'Styles' Shackelton, Dave Seeley, Keith McKintosh, Dan Wakeham, Dom Harrington and the Nasa scientists aka the Dalikfodda crew!

McNab team riders Katie Omerod and Cody Heirons were also out with us on our final week, at 12yrs old katie made us all look bad throwing down Cab 5's and is a definite one to watch in the future. Cody was his usual smooth riding self perfecting his fs spins and generally mastering all with ease on the snow but as we were all pleased to note he still sucks at beach volley ball!

We made a movie of each of the 3 weeks which I will try to get on line as soon as I get a little time and I have some nice shots that I will stick in gallery over the next few days.

Bookings for next year and going well, most of our big trips in the Voyager program are pretty much booked up and we are trying to get extra places to cater for the demand on our Russia Heli weeks so if you are on a waiting list Mel will keep you informed of any progress,

We are still waiting to run through options for our Voyager Freeride trip to Japan as the initial costs were looking too high, Mel has since found some more options at a better price and will keep you informed of any changes.

As an alternative or and additional trip we are also looking at running a Voyager Freeride trip to Whistler so anyone interested in this trip should let Mel know so we can look at numbers and figures and I'll get some info on line soon.

Keep checking back here for updates and I'll get the gallery and Videos on line early this week.

Hope you're all having a great summer!

Neil.
