Voyager Heli trip - Kamchatka

The Kamchatka Penisula is the most Eastern point of the Russian mainland and quite simply hosts some of the greatest heli accessed freeriding terrain on planet!
The Kamchatka penisula is the most eastern point of Russia and was during the cold war period a hive of covert military activity it being situated a mere 55 miles from the US mainland separated by the Bering sea.

Smoking Volcanoes litter the horizon in Kamchatka.

The Kamchatka peninsula is one of the worlds most active volcanic hotspots with 29 active volcanoes some of which attain spectacular proportions, Klyuchevkoy the largest by a narrow margin rises from sea level to a lofty 4835m and most of the rideable Volcanic peaks here offer incredible descents of around 2000m vertical, some where you might even make your last deep powder turn on the very shores of the Pacific Ocean itself.

Paul Cross lost on another endless descent in Kamchatka.

The freeriding here is endless, the peaks stretch out to the distant horizon in every direction and as you stand and gaze down the endless descent before your feet, trying to spot the tiny dot that is the waiting Heli far below, you can't help but smile to yourself, it quite simply doesn't get any better than this!

Our Kamchatka heli trip is more than just a Heli-boarding and ski trip, it is a journey into Russia past, present and future. The sculpted landscape, the dizzying heights and spectacular terrain speaks for itself, but the wild location, the history and the Volcanic activity of the area complete the package to make this a destination not to be missed.

Our Voyager Heli-boarding and ski trip to Kamchatka takes place every winter during the month of April when conditions in this far off region are at their best.

Our 10 day trip includes Hotel accommodation with Breakfast included, transport to and from the heli-port or resort as needed, 8 hours of Heli flight time and guiding care of our own McNab Guides.

Our Voyager Kamchatka Heli snowboard and ski trip is available to those that have already taken part in our Backcountry Intro course.

This week is all about downhill powder mileage and we can mix both Heli Skiers and Snowboarders on the same trip.

Skiing and Snowboard and fitness standards need to be high. On an average Heli-ski day you can expect to ride around 8000m vertical with an average distance of 4 to 5 km under your feet on each freeride descent. This can add up to some tired legs at the end of the day!

Should you use all the designated heli-ski time during the week and still want more, extra Heli time is available at €2600 per hour split between the group.
